Question of the week:
One of the biggest concerns in the Twilight series is the ever present question--do vampires have souls? Do you think Edward has a soul, why or why not?

I believe that Edward & all of the Cullens have souls. They try so hard to be good that it can't all be a waste. And when you think about it, Vampire's nature is to drink human blood, and their not... human so to speak, so the same rules don't really apply to them, do they? Like take for example, a grisly bear, if he kills animals his soul isn't damned forever is it? Maybe Vampires are like them and their meant to drink human blood, and they have their OWN after life, not hell, but just different, it could be good.

Afterall arn't Vampires a different species? Correct me if i'm wrong, but Edwards always saying how he's not human, he use to be, but i don't know this all just really confusses me. I agree with the eye color thing, thats got to be some kind of sign...

*sigh* They have souls, I'm sure of it... they're too good of people not to, I mean Carlisle saves lives every day... he's probably made up for all of the people that his "family" has killed 10-fold... or maybe not, because of Jasper... but who knows?

I agree tho, i want them to have souls

I don't think they're a different species. It's kind of like having a virus or disease that permanently changes you, in the Twi-Verse that's how it seems anyway. Of course it's different in other tales, like in the BuffyVerse, a demon sets up shop within your body.
