Do you think our favorite couple is doomed? Or do you think another character we have grown to love will die in the final book from Bella's perspective?

Is this really truly the last book?

It is the last book from Bella's perspective. Meyer's is writing Twilight from Edward's perspective next...and then who knows.....

From the preface of Breaking Dawn, it is so obvious, in my opinion that our favorite werewolf and our favorite clutsy human, that won't be human for long, are going to have a showdown!!! Who wins??? I do not know!!!!

since this the last book from bella's eyes, does that mean that when the next book are relesed from edwarst point of view that it will start the series over, or just continue along?

I think that this will probably be the last in the series--four books.
BUT she's writing Midnight Sun as Twilight in Edward's POV, which I think is awesome of her. But I know, from personal experience, that spending too much time on one subject is tiring, so my guess is that she probably won't redo the entire series again.

I am still up in the air about who will die (and I have no doubt someone will). I like to think back to Harry Potter, which I posted about in one of the other topics...How JK killed off fan favorites (yes, I cried when Sirius died). Obviously these two authors are very different women writing very different stories...But someone is going to die, you can just feel it.

HOWEVER. I re-read "Twilight" this weekend because of two very long bus rides and came across two very interesting things that I overlooked the first time through because a) I read the three book in three days and b) I didn't have all the information of the other two that would make things pop out at me.

First, Bella and Edward have a "hypothetical" conversation and basically Bella is referred to as Joe. Then it gets switched to her being referred to as Jane to make it feminine. I wonder if Mrs. M already knew her Volturi characters at this point. I thought it was interesting, even if it means nothing.

Second, there is some point, and where that point is now escapes me, that Bella mentions "borrowing" Jasper's power...Just a passing comment about being able to change people's moods or something. I believe it's all in her thoughts, not said out loud to anyone...But I wonder too if Mrs. M already had the idea that Bella was going to be changed and have a power...So I wonder if that is foreshadowing that her power may be to borrow OTHER people's powers...Very Peter Petrelli in "Heroes."

Anyway, that was pretty long and I totally got off track...I seem to have a hard time getting things to make sense! I think it's all Edward's fault.

Hm...There was a fanfiction about Bella being "Borrower". It's a good guess, I think.

And I have no clue where to put this, but I just had an idea about why Edward can't read Bella's mind.

Not everyone's mind works the same way--just the same as not everyone learns the same way. There are auditory learners, visual learners, kinesthetic learners. The way people think is different, too, I believe. I just kinda know what I'm thinking--not always words, not always pictures, and I certainly can't touch my thoughts. But my Dad can hear his voice in his head when he thinks to himself. Like 'Gosh, Rachel's got bedhead today' or something like that. Some other people might see images, or see the words in their heads. I don't know.

So, maybe Bella's mind is wired differently than Edward can perceive....Just like the AM/FM thing that he explained.

*shrug* A crazy idea that I had no clue where to put.

Also, I personally don't think that he will, but my friends think that Edward will be able to read Bella's mind after she's Turned.

I highly doubt that any of the Cullens will die, but I have become quite wary on Jacob. Not that I want him to die or anything.
I think the exact same thing about Bella "borrowing" powers. I actually wrote a fanfiction on it, and I have read it in other stories.
On the name "Jane" that was previously discussed in this topic, I noticed that too. I also noticed that one of the teacher is named Mr.Mason. But isn't that Edward's previous surname?
I think that the most important part of the BD chapter was the preface. We now know that Bella will have to choose if she wants to kill Jacob or not. Obviously shes going to find a way to warp out of that situation, but it might actually lead to Bella stepping back and Edward jumping in to finish him off.
I also think that Bella's power might be similar to Alice's in a way. Remember that dream she had in Twilight where she saw Edward as a vampire in the forest and Jacob was pulling her back. And then Jacob turned into a werewolf. At this point, Bella had no idea that Jacob was a werewolf, or that they even existed. Maybe that whole dream was foreshadowing Jacob getting between Bella and Edward and becoming his dangerous wolf side.
In a Shakespearen tragedy, the hero always has his downfall that leads to his death. Jacob's inability to give up, his big headedness, his over confidence and his judgement just might lead him to death. He keeps on fighting for what he believes is rightfully his; Bella.
Anway, so to summarize, haha, I have a strong feeling that Jacob will be pushing up daisies by the end of Breaking Dawn. I hope not. I hope he gets together with Leah and have a happy ending.

I think that Jacob might die, because we all know that, that will affect Bella too, and mke it harder for her and Edward, but you never know Stephenie Meyer might surprise us, it just better not be Edward or Bella or Alice!!

Another crazy theory of mine...
The blurb on the cover of Breaking Dawn sounded AWFULLY like Edward was hesitating/afraid to bite Bella, and Bella was trying to coax/convince him into that it was OK and that they could finally be together forever...

I noticed that too... but if I wasn't set on Bella and Edward being unable to do anything on wedding night, I would think it was from there.

I heard somewhere that SM said Bella, Edward, Alice, and Jasper weren't going to die. However, I don't know how reliable those sources were.

that borrowing idea is really good. But you guys.... think about it maybe the preface is suppost to trick us?

do you think... and i hope this isn't the case that it's not jacob shes fighting with... that maybe its edward, alice or even charlie? I have no idea, i'm just spitting out ideas... I know that the preface really bothered me... and as for the quotes for breaking dawn.. let me go read them so i can comment about those..

Ok, i just read it, and i've decided it's not jacob [ i always decide what one i think it is] I agree with the hesitating thing. but somethings telling me that thats not gonna work out, that Bella wont become a human just that quickly... maybe they're talking about death? maybe they're about to go walk into the sun by the Volturi or something... gahh!! but why would edward be afraid to die? I don't know.! I can't wait for the book to come out... and now i'm trying to find the Jane conv. cuz i don't remember it...
Well i can't find it.. I think it's in new moon or something and i don't have that book next to me right now wheni went upstairs i grabbed twilight & eclipse..


And the title breaking dawn it scares me.. maybe it means that dawns coming... which stands for jacob... or maybe it means that jacob will die.. i honestly kind of hope jacob dies... ok that came out wrong. i mean i'd rather him die than edward.. i hope he imprints on a nice girl

ANYWHO...

i also think that that dream that bella had about her grandma? something might be about that like maybe shes really old when she finally goes with edward? that would still make me sad... and it has hinted tword it, when edward said that he'd still love her if she was old.

now i'm sad.. i can't talk about this anymore, time to go listen to some metro station
